Page views limit too low?

I have some components installed. I just wasn’t sure if it was a plugin or component. In that case I will install it. Thanks!

Hi @alltiagocom,
I don’t know If you are still looking for a solution for your problem with the limits of page views. If you still are looking for a managed hosting service for Discourse with unlimited page views, perhaps this managed hosting provider: cloud68.co could be an suitable alternative for you?

(P.S. thanks for writing this topic and raising the issue of page views limit. Without this topic I wouldn’t have realized early on that I also needed I provider for managed hosting with unlimited page views.)

Today, in about three hours, I installed Discourse on our VPS and got it running with Mailgun. And I did it with ChatGPT. Yes, I had to rebuild several times, and change the port, and keep asking why this didn’t work or what this error means, but I had never used or installed it before and definitely didn’t have lots of SMTP experience. Self-hosting is easier with ChatGPT and patience.

You shouldn’t have to use chatgpt. If the official install instructions are not clear about something and need improvement, let us know!

There is nothing wrong with the instructions, but they can never be complete for all possible users and VPS configurations. That’s where ChatGPT can help. A lot.

I had to use port 8082 for Discourse because my ISP was using it for something. And setting up Discourse to work with Mailgun? Lots of learning curve there, but thanks to ChatGPT, all is well and running properly.

Just a note that all self serve plans (Starter, Pro, and Business) now include up to 500K monthly browser page views.

The main difference between tiers is now primarily based on which features are available, though different usage limits still apply for things like email and storage.

Even though I ended up going the self-hosted route and I don’t remember what the limits were when I started this topic, it’s good to see that the focus on the self serve plans is now more on the features, not the page views.

In my very short experience with Discourse and the team (5 months now), I can say that it delights me to see things being taken into consideration by the team. This is indeed a great piece of software and I wish nothing but success to everyone involved. I’m grateful for the option of having a free forum when self-hosting, and the helpful community here.
