Possible to change "/t" in url to something else?

Oh there was a discussion about why /t and /c are abbreviated rather than full keyword:

Design choice behind /t, /c, and /users

What was the design choice behind going with abbreviated URIs for topics (/t), and categories (/c), but using the full form for accessing user pages (/users)?
