Ah - I just disabled guest gate and everything is fine!!!

Just a question… given this experience I’m going to be much slower in terms of upgrading my software in the future - perhaps every 6 months or a year. Just so I’m not on the bleeding edge like this again. Is that a reasonable strategy?

Oh wait.

I think I see the problem … Guest Gate has migrated to a Theme Component and this Plugin is deprecated as you can see from its Topic:

So rebuild without this and add in the Theme Component: Guest Gate Theme Component - theme-component - Discourse Meta

The problem is you are still using the old Plugin and should probably use the Theme Component.
