opcourdis is looking for a feature to add private notes inside a thread, visible only to mods and/or selected users. Moin suggests using whispers, which can be configured to allow specific groups to see whisper posts. opcourdis is pleased with the suggestion, impressed by Discourse’s features, and finds it superior to other platforms like phpbb and mybb.

Now being new and having done a few searches I wonder if such an option/plugin exists :
Adding a private note inside a thread with sensitive data only visible for mods and/or chosen users.
I don’t know if anyone is familiar with a french foss mature ticketing/asset management system called GLPI but here is how the option look like :

You can configure who is allowed to see whisper posts with the whispers allowed groups site setting.

I checked phpbb, mybb, glpi, and others, discourse is not the same rodeo
