Hello. What do these red mail notifications do. What is the difference between a red mail icon and a normal mail icon? I don’t understand why it is colored red.

This is an official warning. It can only be issued by staff (admins and moderators)

As explained in the guide its a great way to try and correct user behaviour without going through the bother of silencing or suspending users.
