Reply by email with pop/imap feature use oauth instead of username:password

As documented in this older thread, Set up reply by email with POP3 polling 9 years later, It seems that Google is shutting down IMAP / POP with username:password authentication in favor of OAuth.

source Is there any work in the pipeline to change discurse to reply by email using OAuth before Google deadline?

Thanks for raising this Eric, this has also been raised earlier in Add richer authentication support for POP3 . We need to schedule in this work this year, otherwise these the POP3 polling as well as eventually SMTP support for group inboxes
