Resolving topic authorship discrepancies in quoted posts

Hi,

There’s an issue surrounding quotes and how a topic is displayed after the topic author/owner is changed.

Example:

This is the up-to-date topic with Discourse as the author. All good, no issues here.

However, when it was quoted, there was another owner. Despite the embedded post being updated with the latest edits, the avatar and general ownership does not change.

This may be confusing as users may see a topic author and not understand why it’s not consistent throughout the posts.

This is super hard to fix, I think we have some job that handles user renames, we could piggy back onto it on change ownership.

An interesting spin here is “if you are quoting documentation” … authorship does not matter, we should not be even showing that
