Going to /tags will show you tags & Tag groups with restricted access by permission/user groups
This was previously fixed according to an older post Tags that are supposed to be only visible to staff are shown on /tags for everyone - Contribute / Bug - Discourse Meta
Occurs when this setting is checked to true:
Hmm I can’t repro locally or on Meta, are you sure the tag group’s visibility is hidden?
From the tag group settings:
Yes, I am sure. It is visible to TL 2, the account tested is TL 1. Also tried with a different group combo e.g. Custom group. No, the testing account isn’t staff, moderator, or admin.
Seems to also be that the setting isn’t always visible as set. Maybe I will try rebuilding, and see if that resolves it. The whole install seems to be behaving oddly.
A Quick follow up. After I did a rebuild, all is well, and the tag groups are only visible to those who have access to them.
