"Scrub record" when deleting user

I found only one place (Reject an applicant and delete the information they supplied) where this is mentioned but couldn’t find it in any documentation.

I don’t remember getting this option previously when deleting a new user. If they have been caught by the system as potential bad users, how would they even have a record to scrub?

Here is the original feature request (as you noted):

Reject an applicant and delete the information they supplied

It seems that the email address and other personally‑identifiable information (PII) is removed when a accepted user is deleted. However when an applicant is rejected, without ever having become a user, the same is not true. Their information remains in the review logs. I believe this to be the case. Can I delete this application information manually? If not, have I identified a bug? Any help gratefully accepted.

Even a rejected application generates a some entries in the site database. This feature was designed to explicitly remove that material — which could be either sensitive (as in my use‑case) or objectionable.

Regarding documentation, that could be a useful exercise!
