I am planning on using discourse for setting up a new community site in Urdu language which is displayed right-to-left. I would like the admin section to use the English language interface in the normal ltr style. Can this be accomplished using some settings or some code modifications?

This comes up from time to time. You can choose language per user, so the simple solution is to create an admin account that uses English language and another account that uses Urdu.

Adding to what @pfaffman said: if you want the forum’s default language to be Urdu, use that locale to set it up and then change your admin account to English in the user preferences.
That will work if you allow users to switch locale but an interesting question is whether you can do that even if you don’t want to allow (other) users to change locale.
