You could probably adapt this component:

Warn admins/tl4 when replying to closed topics

This helps to prevent admins accidentally continuing a closed/archived discussion (much to the frustration of other forum users!). [44] Warning text is configurable as a theme setting. Rather than checking the “closed” attribute, check the “bumped at” attribute instead

But also, remember that we already show a warning in the composer when you reply to an old topic (desktop only)
