Is there chance that solution would be public? It would help my work when I wouldn’t need jump between two users because of screenshots.
(Should this move to own topic?)

Hi! Would it be possible that when there are only two themes provided the button actually works as a toggle? So no menu shown, just toggle between A and B.
My use case is to toggle between dark and bright modes. I use the circle-half-stroke icon with no text.
Or is there a different plugin that does that?
Welcome to Meta ![]()
There is
But that doesn’t change the theme, only the color scheme.
When Hide theme name is set, select dropdown looks strange… It seems to be half covered by the sidebar
This doesn’t seem to be working for me. I don’t see the icon or the dropdown menu. I have 2 themes installed:
The component is being added to both themes:

No icon or dropdown:
For some reason, those 2 icons that are usually on the right side, were pushed to the left.
The theme that is not enabled by default must be configured as selectable by users.
Then refresh the site.
My bad. I totally forgot about that. I had it for my tests with the Light/Dark theme and forgot about this one. Thank you.
I still can’t find a way to include the Light theme though…
This functionality appears to be malfunctioning solely within my current theme. I am curious as to whether there are specific conditions under which it is known to fail.
Is it not working at all? causing errors?
No errors are being thrown.
it’s simply that the sidebar is not appearing on my theme.
Having incorporated all themes, I am confident that nothing has been overlooked.
Yes, the checkbox is currently selected.
I sincerely apologize.
For some reason, it started appearing in the sidebar during my review.
Thank you very much for bringing it to my attention.
How does this work here on meta?
The above does not look like Sidebar Color Palette Toggle (which is marked as broken) so I’m assuming that’s not it.
I have created a custom theme with several palettes all in the about.json. All the palettes are user selectable. However, I do not see a separate paintbrush icon that gives me the palette names.
EDIT: I have also activated Horizon on my site, and when I make some of the palettes for Horizon user selectable, I do see the icon just as on meta.discourse.org.
The other thing that is puzzling is that the behaviour here on meta seems to be that when you pick one of those palettes in Horizon, it knows what the light and dark version should be.
I’m on 2026.5.0-latest.1 (87ead9f208)
I’m not sure if this question belongs here or not.
