Simplify Category Notifications

Hi,

I find that many non-techy users find the Category/Topic notification settings to be confusing.

I would like to propose a simpler naming and description:

  • Normal Notify and email me whenever I’m @mentioned
  • Headlines Notify and email me all new Topics
  • Everything Notify and email me all new Topics and all the Replies
  • Nothing Don’t show me anything in this Category

I imagine this proposal could be further improved.

For this iteration, I think going to four options makes it simpler and the language is more common wording.

No, we won’t be doing this. You are completely free to edit copy on your site as you see fit of course.
