Staged user doesn't get notified for replies in topics they created by mail?

Case:

  • New user mails to a category, new topic is created
  • A known user replies
  • Nothing else happens

Normally, a known user would have received a notification, but this is a new/staged user. Should they get a notification?

This could be handy for support systems.

Have you tried watching that category?

Well, a staged user can’t do that. Unless you mean that I set that category to be watched by default.

Sorry, I misread. I thought you wanted a notification whenever a user replied to a topic created by a staged user.

If it’s happening, then it’s a bug since staged users should always be watching the topics they created.

I’ll have a look tomorrow.

Now that email posts from non-users is working for me again, after some test posts I can also confirm that staged users are not notified of replies to the topic they created. Running v1.5.0.beta11 +9.

Turns out, it was only happening on secured :lock: categories
