Is this post or plattform linked to outlier community?
I suggest that we create another level in the user trust system to further enhance community engagement and ensure a more refined approach to user participation and responsibilities. Introducing Trust Level 5: Community Ambassador and Trust Level 6: Community Advisor could serve to recognize and reward the most committed and impactful members of the community.
Trust Level 5 — Community Ambassador
Community Ambassadors are dedicated members who have demonstrated exceptional involvement, leadership, and contribution over a significant period. This level would empower them to act as representatives of the community, both internally and externally.
To reach Trust Level 5, users must:
- Be at Trust Level 4 for at least 6 months.
- Have a spotless moderation record with no suspensions, silences, or spam/offensive flags in the last 12 months.
- Have initiated or actively participated in at least 50 community events, initiatives, or discussions.
- Be recognized for providing consistent, high-quality contributions (measured by likes, community votes, or staff endorsements).
- Demonstrate commitment to community values by regularly contributing to community development or mentoring newer users.
Users at Trust Level 5 can:
- Organize and moderate community events or discussions.
- Mentor new or less experienced users through an official mentorship program.
- Submit feedback directly to the platform administrators on proposed changes or features.
- Host special webinars or Q&A sessions with the community.
- Represent the community in official or semi-official capacities, such as partnerships or external forums.
Trust Level 6 — Community Advisor
Community Advisors are the most respected and influential members who play a strategic role in guiding the community’s direction. They act as the bridge between the users and the platform’s administrators, contributing significantly to policy-making and community governance.
To reach Trust Level 6, users must:
- Be at Trust Level 5 for at least 1 year.
- Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of community dynamics, rules, and policies.
- Have contributed to a minimum of 10 major community development projects or initiatives.
- Be endorsed by both community leaders and platform administrators.
- Maintain a spotless record with no infractions in the past 24 months.
Users at Trust Level 6 can:
- Participate in strategic decision-making processes regarding community guidelines, rules, and moderation.
- Vote on policy changes that impact the community structure or operations.
- Access advanced moderation tools and analytics to help optimize community engagement.
- Receive exclusive training sessions on community management and development.
- Act as primary points of contact for any external community-related concerns or collaborations.
This is the forum about the software, which, among many others, the Outlier community uses.
https://meta.discourse.org is where users or admins of Discourse forums in general can go to talk about the software itself, or about related topics (customizing the forum, community building, moderation, etc.)
I have the impression that your suggestions are related to a specific community. Not every community that uses this software will offer, for example,
In general, those suggestions seem not directly linked to features of the software itself, like the permission to edit posts, but rather about communicating with members of the community, which is something the software cannot help with. Your suggestions could be part of a superuser program
Sure. But those aren’t trust levels, but different roles. They need a group, education and needed tools and help from organization.
I’ve slipped this over into its own topic and unlisted it from public view as we aren’t connected to Outlier and these suggestions seem relatively specific to that site and would be better made on their community forum.
(Also, just as an extra FYI, we don’t encourage primarily AI generated content in our discussions either, so please bear that in mind when contributing here. )
