I have to be honest: the actual translation to Spanish sucks way too much. I’m glad to contribute; in fact, I’ve been making suggestions in Transifex.
I can only make suggestions, why can’t I save the changes entirely?
I would love to help with the translation to Spanish, but you guys must help me out with this.

Please let me make changes, not just suggestions 
It is not possible to have inconsistencies such as using “email” in some places, “e-mail” in others, “correo” in others, “correo electrónico” in others, or “dirección de correo” in others. The word “username” is also mistranslated: sometimes it is rendered as “usuario,” other times as “nombre de usuario,” and so on. The correct terms in Spanish are:
email = correo electrónico
email address = dirección de correo electrónico
username = nombre de usuario

In short, what I wish to do is help; I am a fan of good spelling and grammar. But to be able to help you, I need you to please allow me to make the changes, not just suggestions.

To begin, you need to locate yourself within Meta.
If you started this topic in English, you should continue it in that language. You had already written elsewhere in Spanish; that was where you should have continued the “debate.”
I understand that “mistakes” can happen, but you should also respect the people who translate, as we do everything voluntarily and in our spare time (which is not always free time).
Saying that there are glaring errors, or as you previously put it, that the translation “sucks,” is -in my opinion- disrespectful, and I do not consider that you started off well, or with good vibes, so to speak. 
On the other hand, your changes in Transifex, if accepted, are not suggestions. The changes are saved; however, the review team must approve them for them to be marked as “reviewed” and subsequently “corrected.” (All of this is explained in my guide).
Keep correcting, and I will keep reviewing.
There are discussions to establish “conventions” for Spanish. Instead of criticizing and throwing tantrums, you can open new topics… with better vibes, so that people who use this language can contribute their thoughts on the matter.

All I want is for the Discourse translation into Spanish to be accurate, and that’s why I came to help.
I am not only a professional translator from English to Spanish, but I am also a fan of Discourse, and if I can help make the translation accurate, I am happy.
But I need you to understand what I mean when I say there are egregious errors. Apparently, my way of expressing myself seems a bit insulting to you: let me clarify that I do not write anything with the intention of offending. I am simply very direct and I do not like to waste time, precisely because our time is limited.
So: let’s get along, don’t take things personally (because I never say things with the intention of offending or belittling others’ work), and let’s do the translation the way it should be done.

There is something that is not entirely clear to me, my friend: which language does Discourse upload to its platform? Since there are es, es_ES, es_AR, es_419, and es_MX. It seems that Discourse only uses es_ES; I believe that is incorrect, as they should use neutral Spanish (es). However, I am interested in knowing which one Discourse uses so I know which one to continue making corrections for, so we do not waste time.

They use Es_es.
Do you also want to change the entire root language? Then create a new root with a new name, copy the one from Transifex, and start translating everything in neutral Spanish, and then we’ll see how it turns out.
