Topic timeline's current post number blank

Note: this happens on Meta.

On certain topics, once the topic loads, if you start scrollng down (or even if you don’t), the number showing which post you’re reading in the topic tomeline is not there, and only loads after a while (so the timeline looks like ‘/13’ instead of ‘3/13’.

This happens on topics long and short, and on mobile.

This is by design though. We have a debounce that only injects history when your browser settles?

@saquetim recently ported this off widgets to Ember, but I am not noticing anything different here with our behavior than what it was previously?

The thing is, I only started noticing this fairly recently, and I believe still happened on a topic here and there yesterday or 2 days ago.

Sorry, what is your expectation, that as you are scrolling the URL is constantly changing?

Maybe have a look at an older deploy, is it behaving any different?

Apologies, perhaps I should clarify. Normally, when entering the topic, the topic timeline would show the current post. However, it’s blank and only appears after some time.

I will try to get a screenshot the next time I see it.

Hi @sam , I managed to get a quick screenshot:

Some topics load fine, while some have this problem.

I have an inkling that if you enter topics and you’re not reading the last reply, then this will happen.

Still having no luck reproing this
