For quite a while now, every time I visit any deployment if Discourse – this one, GitHub, Swift, Kotlin, Elm, … – I only get a white page. After a force reload (Ctrl+F5), the page will load and then work until I close that tab. Every new tab or soft reload (F5), same thing.

In the dev console, I see numerous errors:

Просто зашел, потому что столкнулся с тем же самым в нескольких разных случаях за последние дни.
У меня такая же настройка (правда, Firefox Nightly, но тоже с uMatrix), и я видел те же ошибки.

Для меня включение XHR для обоих поддоменов cloudfront (в этом конкретном случае) решило проблему.

Не уверен, почему это так; uMatrix не показывает никаких XHR-запросов к этим доменам, но это, похоже, баг с их стороны, а не с Discourse. Также не понимаю, почему принудительная перезагрузка (Ctrl+F5) помогает в данном случае, но она стабильно работает. Без разрешения XHR каждая перезагрузка страницы (не переход по ссылкам, а именно перезагрузка через F5 или открытие новой вкладки) приводит к тому, что страница становится пустой.

В любом случае, надеюсь, это поможет тем, кто тоже столкнулся с этой проблемой.

Разработчики веб-приложений могут помнить о существовании блокировщиков скриптов и адаптироваться к ним (в определённой степени), могут делать вид, что не знают о них, или же предпринимать особые усилия, чтобы скрыть запросы, делая практически невозможной правильную настройку блокировщика. Я видел все три варианта, и выбор определённо существует.

Да, но я не ожидаю, что сайт потребует зависимости, которые не отображаются.

Кстати: uMatrix был переведён в архивный режим более года назад. Я перешёл на uBlock Origin и сейчас оцениваю, как ведёт себя Discourse. Пока что он кажется рабочим.

uBO не различает скрипты и XHR, возможно, поэтому всё работает: зависимость скриптов видна, поэтому после её разрешения XHR проходит.

Я перешёл на uBlock Origin и сейчас оцениваю, как ведёт себя Discourse. Пока что всё выглядит нормально.

Я ежедневно использую uBlock Origin в браузере (настройки по умолчанию) и piHole в локальной сети для обработки всех DNS-запросов. Могу гарантировать, что Discourse будет работать без проблем с такой конфигурацией, так как несколько членов нашей команды используют те же инструменты.

На странице есть контент внутри тега no-script, который будет отображён, если вы попросите браузер не выполнять JavaScript. Вы всё равно сможете потреблять контент в любой установке Discourse с отключённым JS.

Отключение некоторых функций JavaScript сложнее обработать gracefully, так как для нас это потребовало бы обнаружения использования JS

Отключение некоторого JS сложнее реализовать с плавным переходом к альтернативе, так как для нас это потребовало бы обнаружения использования JS.

Я не фронтенд-разработчик, но, кажется, можно отдавать статическую страницу, которая затем перезаписывается загруженным JS (если он есть), или использовать скрипты первого лица для минимального отображения, или применять скрипт первого лица для проверки загрузки сторонних зависимостей, или… Не знаю, но множество страниц умудряются обнаруживать мой отвратительный «блокировщик рекламы» и скрывать свой контент за вуалью размытия, так что, похоже, технические препятствия преодолимы. (Хотя я не предлагаю создавать «рекламную стену» или что-то подобное!)

В любом случае, текущая проблема решена, и я рад, что мне больше не нужно принудительно перезагружать каждую страницу Discourse. Я также, думаю, чётко выразил свою позицию относительно сторонних зависимостей в целом и «реактивных» сайтов, реагирующих на их отсутствие. Оставлю вас, разработчиков, решать, есть ли здесь что-то, на что стоит обратить внимание. Спасибо за помощь, время и вообще за вашу отличную работу! :wave

Если вы откроете kxcdn.com в своём браузере, то увидите, что это CDN, или сеть доставки контента, для статических ресурсов, и довольно известная. Другие конкуренты — Amazon CloudFront, Cloudflare и так далее. Не понимаю, что в CDN может быть вредоносного?
