Want to move a Topic/ Thread in the About to a new category, but can't?

I realize that the About is tied to the Category.
Are there any work-arounds to move the Topic/ Thread to a new Category please?
Need to delete the old category.

I’m afraid not. Those are special topics that provide the category descriptions and cannot be deleted like regular topics.

However, their existence should not stop you from deleting the category with them in it.

If there are any replies in the about topic delete them first.

I’ve just had a quick check on my test site, and that deleted the category even with a reply in the About category topic.

Though if you want to save the topic content for some reason (eg you’ve accidentally customised an About topic into something else) you can copy paste the OP post body into a new topic in another catgeory, and then move the replies over with the ‘select posts’ option from your topic wrench.

That sounds promising, but there doesn’t seem to be a Select Posts at the Topic Wrench.
E.g. this reply to the About.

That seems to be the post wrench menu. You need the topic wrench one in the top right.
