On our forum, people constantly try to get the first like of certain users. Some people want to be early to see important threads by admins. If either is the case on our forum, it would be extremely helpful if you guys could install a new Preferences option in which under “Users,” you could set users to “Watching” as you can to “Muted.” Please take this idea into consideration

There are a number of topics proposing a “follow user” mechanism already, I suggest posting in those. This is nit on our current roadmap in any form.
