We're increasing the default font size by 1px

Our old default was 14px, now it’s 15px. All text will look slightly larger.

Why?
There’s some evidence that larger font sizes increase readability, and larger font sizes are generally becoming more common across the web (you can easily find some sites that are making body text as large as 20px!). So this is a minor bump in that direction.

I hate it
That’s ok. Visit https://meta.discourse.org/my/preferences/interface and select “Smaller” from the text size dropdown.

One thing not mentioned, but should have been: this is yet another normalization between mobile layout and desktop. Mobile has been at 15px default for a while now.

The avatar in the header is stretched to roughly 34x34px, but the image has a size of 32x32.

It was never this much big size like this. Or, just I am noticing!

There was a 1px bump from 14px to 15px. Admin impact has been noted and AFAIK is being looked at.
