What is 'Invite users to a PM'?

Can you help me explain this?

I set the “min trust level to invite” to TL2, but TL1 users can still invite users to PM.

It sounds a little like you mean ‘they can create PMs’? If so, that’s a separate setting.

I’ll have a run through of the invite feature when I get a moment to see if it’s working as expected, just to make sure.

No, they do can invite users into a existing PM.

Is this a version issue? The discourse version of my forum is 2.8.8, not the latest.

I’ve just had a run-through and it seems to be working okay for me.

I created a PM between a TL2 and a TL1 test user, and tried to invite another non-member to the PM using the menu at bottom of the PM:

However, for my TL1 user there is no Invite option:

I totally get it now. I’m not a native English speaker, I mistook “invite user” for “add user” earlier.

Sorry for the stupid mistake I made.

There is no need to apologise, it is one of the lesser-known Trust Level perks so can often catch people out.
