Why cant i see the pencil icon for edit history

I have admin level access, but I cannot see any pencil icon to view the edit history, despite it was done outside of the grace period. I can see it when I run an SQL query in data explorer, however I would like to see in the UI using the pencil icon , but it seems to be missing

Does it happen for all posts?
Have you checked if you have customization that may hide the icon?

It can’t be Edit history visible to public setting since it will be visible for staff.

Yes for all posts it does not appear
no customization to hide it
In my edit history which i am getting running the sql query, it shows from revision 2 to 3.4.5…, 1 does not appear, can that be the reason?

Just in case, have you tried safe mode?

It appears on the safe mode.

Do you have any plugins/themes that modify this area?

If you don’t know, try to figure out first if a plugin or a theme component causes the issue. You can choose what to disable in safe mode.

There is a high chance it may be a component.

Perhaps silly question, but are you sure you are logged in as an admin user? That happens sometimes..

OK, so this is going to be a case of removing your components one by one to see which one is causing the problem. Or remove them all and start adding them one by one, depending on how many you have.
