Topic List Thumbnails

Specifically, is it possible to set it so the thumbnail is only displayed if an image is found to display? i.e. - rather than having a placeholder when there’s no image, just don’t display anything?

For topics without images, I only want the topic title to be visible. Is there a way to do this?

I was able to do this with a little CSS

.topic-list-thumbnail.no-thumbnail {
    display:none;
}
