dvargas92495 introduces the Discourse Wikilinks plugin, which supports linking between posts using bracket syntax [[ ]]. Key features include autoclosing brackets, autocomplete suggestions for topic titles, overlaying anchor tags for existing links, populating linked references, and creating new topics via inline links. The plugin is open-source, with an open collective pool offering $25 for closing enhancement issues.
Jagster reports a potential issue where linked references only show connections to used tags, asking if this is a bug or changed behavior on version 2.9.0beta9. In a follow-up post, Jagster clarifies that the behavior stems from the Wikilinks plugin and notes it also affected their search history. Jagster acknowledges this is not a core Discourse bug and requests the thread be moved.
oshyan recognizes the implementation as similar to Roam Research-style linking, expressing excitement and noting they will test it in their digital garden. Finally, JBM praises the plugin’s power, particularly for users of Obsidian or Notion, and asks if there are plans to make it an “official” plugin for easier corporate adoption.

TODO
All issues available on the Github’s Issues are PR welcome. All issues with the enhancement tag applied will be paid to the developer who closes the issue at $25/issue, paid from our Open Collective pool found here.
If you find this plugin useful, consider becoming a sponsor so that we could pay developers to continue improving the product!
Well, this is not a bug of Discourse, so could someone with stronger tools move this somewhere else, please?
(I know — I could flag this by myself, but I’ve learned my lessons and here is two things I don’t do: I don’t mention anyone from team and I don’t flag my own posts )
I imagine, given your Roam experience, that you had the idea independently yourself. And I’m excited to see it! Thanks for doing this work. Going to play with it now in my digital garden.
There’s not been a lot af activity since some time here: this modern feature is quite powerfull, especially for people used to work with obsidian or notion.
Is there a way that this plugin becomes one day “official” (easier to use in a corporate environment).
