Error 500 how to fix?

AI-generated summary

A user, Abbas_Muhammad, encountered a Docker Manager error (RuntimeError) after updating Discourse from the settings UI. JammyDodger suggested a manual rebuild from the command line using .launcher rebuild app to fix the issue. This approach is recommended as updating from the UI is known to cause problems. pfaffman confirmed that UI upgrades should not be attempted and mentioned multiple instances of failed upgrades. JammyDodger shared a link to a meta discussion where the developer, David, has addressed the issue.

i got this error, how do i fix it?

Are you doing a .launcher rebuild app from the command line, or updating from the UI? If the latter, could you try the former?

I just update the discorse from settings :frowning: not from the command line

I think a manual rebuild should sort you out. :crossed_fingers:

It looks like it’s not possible to do this upgrade from the UI and that Discourse_docker should not attempt to do an upgrade. I’ve at two sites that broke doing the upgrade and this is at least the second one I’ve seen here since the latest release.

I think David has added a message now:
