What makes one user promoted to TL1 over the oher

AI-generated summary

haydenjames asked why a more recent user reached Trust Level 1 (TL1) before another, noting the standard TL1 requirements: entering 5 topics, reading 30 posts, and spending 10 minutes reading posts in the last 100 days. JammyDodger suggested the TL1 user may have been invited via an invitation link, as the default setting for Default invitee trust level is often TL1. haydenjames confirmed this was likely the case and shared a screenshot showing the setting was set to “0: 0 (new)” — which he plans to keep to ensure new invitees start at TL0. The discussion highlights how invitation settings can override automatic trust level progression, and haydenjames expressed appreciation for the clarification.

What requirements made the more recent users hit TL1 before the other. Just curious.

I know its: Get to trust level 1 by achieving the following in the last 100 days…

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

Only curious and trying to learn. If anyone knows, would be great if you can spare a second to loop me on what I’m missing. thanks.

It doesn’t look like either have met the criteria for automatically moving up to TL1. Was the TL1 user invited using an invitation link? I believe the default for Default invitee trust level is TL1, so that may account for it?

Ah! I believe that’s it! Yes, I can now change that setting. Thank you!

For now, I prefer this to start from TL0 as well. Thanks!
