When I edit an existing catagory and try to save it. It throws a 500 Error. Please help.

Anyone please help. This is causing a big issue. Unable to update catagories setting such as permissions etc. I am on version 2.5.1
- do you see anything in /logs ?
- does this happen in /safe-mode ?
- do you have any plugins installed ?

I removed all the plugins. It is working fine now. My guess is the election plugin is the one caused the issue. Thanks @RGJ for your help.
