Connect User logins from my Wix site for my Discourse forum

I have a Wix website on a paid plan (Core). The site’s members (people who’ve just signed up on my site) are well integrated into it, with their details & connections are stored on Wix’s powerful CMSs.

So my Wix site is & should be the core place where users are registered (is this called Identity Provider (IdP)) I want my Discourse forum to use that, to log in users ideally, or link them between my Wix site & Discourse, as well integrated & seamless as possible. At this discovery level, I’d like to know all my options so as not to lose some suggestions by stating my specific needs (stated at the end :hollow_red_circle:)
1) What are my options?

What I’ve explored

I’ve searched All site settings, doesn’t seem to have an option

2) Can any of these:backhand_index_pointing_down: help solve this?
These options seem to have something to do with my goal, but there’s nothing under those tabs. I’ve looked them up & kinda get what they may be, but not knowledgeable enough to properly understand how they can relate to my goal

3) These? I wanted to get as much of an overview as I could myself before asking humans. Here’s one AI response that lists a few options.

Out of these, re automation platforms; I tried both Zapier & Integrately. Tried both of em, here’s what Zapier said. I understand some of this but didn’t wanna load this post with all my questions about that too, so, broadly;

4) Could this be a right direction?

5) Then that point re SSO, is not a solution given my goal right?

6) Nor this setting?

Context re my specific capacity: Rookie coder, built couple semi complex websites on Wix, budget; broke, looking for no to very low cost options atm. Stuck on Discourse’s free hosting for a while

⭕ The following aren't rigid requirements but preferences of what I'd hope the end product would be:
  1. Re which users need to be registered:
Option 1.1) Ideally all users that sign up on my main site (becoming members) need not have Forum accounts for them auto created. Just those who wanna login & add to the forum (more than just read) need to have themselves linked here. (so site members having accounts in the forum is optional, but if they wanna sign up from here, they must be registered on the main site)
Option 1.2) If above’s not possible, having all members (from my site) have Forum accounts auto created isn’t ideal but I’m open to it

  2. Re sign up page & account
Option 2.1) Ideally my Discourse forum’s signup/login must be replaced by the Wix one (so it’s just 1 account & 1 type of sign up/page portal).
Option 2.2) If above’s not possible, (if users have to sign up to both Wix & Discourse separately) there should be a mandatory step ensuring that they’re accounts are definitely linked between both Wix & Discourse.

Are you still on the free-plan ?

Sign up/ login options are limited depending on your hosting plan

Hey:) yes. (updated my post too mentioning it)
Any tips with all the options out there?

You are on a plan that only allows using Discourse-ID. I don’t think this will work.

Since this is not the first time you want more than the free plan offers: have you considered to upgrade to another plan, self-host or choose another hosting provider?

According to SSO: Setting Up Single Sign-On (SSO) Login for Your Site Members | Help Center | Wix.com

I don’t think you have any solutions.

I’m open to

  1. upgrading, but Discourse goes from 0 - 100! per month!! Who even uses that? I’ll be making a post asking Discourse offer some stripped down plans for individuals. More accessible for many & consumer friendly
  2. another hosting provider. Could you please explain about this option?

But I wonder if 3) self hosting is for me. 3.1) Doesn’t it take significant time & tech skill to do this? 3.2) And even if I do an average job at it myself, it won’t be up to what I have now on the free plan right? 3.3) Will I lose some great functionality that this free automagically managed package has? 3.4) Should I constantly maintain a lot more stuff or my forum gets ruined? 3.5) Is there an option for that self hosted version to be auto updated to be similar to this free one’s somewhat latest level? or will that forking diverge so much that every update needs to be manual? I have very little understanding about any of this.
I scoured YouTube to get an overview/rough idea about this self hosting, but haven’t found one. I’ve tried to learn as much from this forum, but as I’m too new to this it’s very unclear atm

It’s a no sorry! We gotta make money somehow and we think Free is pretty generous.

I wanted to be more clear. The free is generous indeed, and I’m very glad about what yall have done and for such a project & team!
But if there was a slightly more functional version with more plugins & a way to integrate them with websites, with more consumer friendly pricing tiers, like plans with website builders? I’d happily pay up
