Date of birth important, but years good too

One fills in date of birth, expecting the year field to appear,
but it never does. “I see, it is probably going to send me birthday
greetings that I don’t want.” Or maybe it is going to match me up with
my zodiac sign future pals."

Some users might prefer "Allow me to show the stately year I was born on
my profile. (Yes even though one can fill it in in the free text field.)

Anyway some users think years are important than days, but the Discourse
authors have their own ideas.

You can use /my/preferences as a shortcut so you don’t need a username there.
