Is it required to also add the RSS websites to the /admin/customize/embedding? I read that I think somewhere in the past and I’ve been doing it ever since. But I just noticed one RSS feed posts without being listed there, so I guess it’s not needed?

Not anymore. It was needed in the past in order to configure the category where the topics would be created, but it’s now all configured in the plugin own admin page.
