Editing pops topic to top of Latest

On my forum, any edit to any post in a topic pops that topic to the top of Latest, which is sometimes confusing. But when @codinghorror (inevitably  ) edits my posts on meta.discourse.org, it does not pop to the top. How does he do that?

If you’re staff (can’t recall for TL4), after editing the last post, you can click on the wrench icon for the topic, and then click Reset Bump Date to not have it bumped in the Latest list

Only edits to the last post bump. If there is a single post in the topic, the first post is also the last post.

Editing a topic title also bumps it, I believe.

Do you know whether that prevents a mailing list email?

No, this is incorrect. It is only true if you are editing the first and only (and thus also the last) post per my previous statement.

The title is an editable attribute of the first post in the topic.
