Is there a setting or component that can completely hide a Discourse forum for non-logged in users? Like, not just prevent posting topics, but viewing the homepage and topics as well?

You can also set all categories or ones you don’t want viewed by non logged in users. In Category settings - Security.
Add see/reply/create to say TL0
Remove Everyone See/Reply/Create
Categories then can only be seen by logged in users.
