How could I go about making it so that topics that are within a sub-category don’t show up in the main category? I think this looks messy and kinda defeats the purpose of having sub-categories when they still show up in the top level category.

Yeah, this is actually rather weird and messy.
I noticed that on this very board… the plugin section properly separates the subforums… and it has a lot of subforums…
The dev subforum, however, mixes the two.
So obviously there is some code that is capable of making a decision on that somewhere.

I would also like to have a feature for this.
I am using discourse as a support forum: Feature Requests - Squidex Support
My goal would be to move all “tagged” features to a subcategory so that I only have to see the open requests. But this is not doable at the moment.

You can choose none as subcategory to see just the topics in the top category.

Yes, I was looking into defaulting to none as well,
Found this, but the solution seemed rather convoluted and didn’t work everywhere per the posters, could you please highlight if there’s a more straightforward solution?
