How to add a ChatGPT trained AI to discourse?

I have tried a few ways to search for this answer but didn’t get many hits. I am sure I am doing something wrong.

I have used ChatGPT 4 “create” GPT and trained it on some of our user manuals. I would like a chat pop-up to appear when people land on our discourse home page, that will let them engage the AI. Is this possible?

GPTs don’t come with an API, there is the assistant API, but it is a bit different and quite expensive

You are able to upload all the docs directly to a persona, but fundamentally you will not be able to offload costs to users like you can for GPTs, so you will be on the hook for usage, if that is acceptable there are 2 alternatives

  1. Upload the docs to a persona
  2. Or, create the documents on Discourse and lean on the search tool
