How to show topics ordered by date of publishing via user interface?

For some categories and tags (like announcements and new-feature) I would like to have a view with ordering depending on the date of the first post.
Is this behaviour available already?

Also there is the “latest” category showing most recent posts first but you probably already know about that.

Not that I know of, but maybe the bosses can set that up to work.

Looks like a few people have asked about this, probably the team members have the answers.

Not as far as I know, it would require a theme component to add this somewhere.

For categories you can set this on the Settings tab of the Category Wrench:

Though for tags I think you’re limited to the URL filter.
