Hello,
I’m a member of a forum, and recently, about three weeks ago, all notifications except for likes and solutions ceased to send, system messages did not work, accounts would not activate, and so on. We made an announcement about the issue so here’s all of the problems we found so far.
A moderator found out this error related to Sidekiq on the dashboard. So is that causing the issues? And what are the steps we can take to fix it?
The forum has been pretty debilitated by this, so we’re hoping to find a solution soon.
I’d also like to say that I’m apart of a forum Turtle is in, too.
Moderators have fixed system and discobot’s profile picture, however, the forum favicon is missing, which, from the moderators, ‘were unable to make a change’. There’s only one admin in the forum, and they’ve been inactive recently.
Weirdly, this also goes with making somebody an admin.
I’ve been on another forum, and they’re also experiencing email-related issues too. I’ve asked an admin on that forum to make me one, and they couldn’t due to the forum’s email system not sending the admin confirmation email to their inbox.
They checked their spam folder, and nothing was there.
Sorry, forgot to remove that part. Yep forum images were removed manually to clear up storage space and is an unrelated issue, it’s just in the same announcement because people were concerned about it.
I noticed that a longtime user[1] wasn’t showing up in the search menu or when I directly inputted the URL. They might’ve just changed their username without me realizing it, but it could be related to this.
Edit: Sorry, the user in mind is Reg, not Ker. I got my forums mixed up.
I am on this forum, and I can confirm that our administrator is on daily and helps us out as much as he can. However, despite their best efforts, they have not managed to fix it.
We’re hoping for an easy and concise solution that can be emailed to their company, basically. They’re usually pretty busy but they confirmed that they’d work on fixing this. So anything send to the moderators isn’t reviewed by the actual staff of the company who can fix the problem, just our community moderator.
