I’m wondering if it would be possible to revoke all topic-creating and posting abilities for new-user/trust_level_0 users after the account is on my site for a week. Basically, I want this week-long period to be a “trial” period, whereby after the week they are not allowed to post, and if they want to post more, they have to be manually upgraded to a higher trust level.
That is an interesting approach, would definitely need to be a plug-in.
