Night Mode Switch for Mobile Devices

Hi everyone

While testing a new forum I have setup using Discourse, one of my beta testers said it would be neat if the forum has a night mode switch for mobile devices which could reverse the scheme or switch to a darker color scheme easier on the eyes. I think it would be valuable addition to Discourse. I did find a post in support about a night theme but it seems it requires messing with or adding code which I’d prefer staying away from and rather see something like this in the core.

I’m not talking about completely different themes with HTML and JS changes. But it occurred to me that it could be rather nice to let users pick between a Light vs a Dark theme on our forum, provided we’ve made our theme to support that feature of course, because that shouldn’t be a given for every Discourse theme. With the last android update, I got a global switch that applies to all apps to reduce the blue. I don’t think this is something that should be implemented on the app level.

Thanks @rriemann Apple has done similar in iOS so probably best to just leave it to the OS to handle that. Thanks
