[PAID] Install Discourse on Plesk and import phpBB data

Hi there
we have a Plesk Server (Debian) with a phpBB Form and want to migrate the board to discourse.

I tried this:

But I can’t get it to work. is there someone who could help me with that? We don’t have much budget, but we are willing to pay for help (please tell me what you want).

thanks a lot
best regards,
Dave

I’m not sure what the topic you linked to has to do with what you’re trying to do. The standard install instructions are here: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/docs/INSTALL-cloud.md.

I recommend against trying to use Discourse with Plesk, though here are some instructions: Installing Discourse With Plesk Onyx (Ubuntu 14.04). For $99, I’ll install Discourse on its own Digital Ocean droplet. (+ $50 to turn on https, if you want me to do it for you). I’d not install it on Plesk for less than $500.

Migrating your data to Discourse is a whole other kettle of fish, but it’s well documented: Importing from phpBB3. For an estimate one would need to know how many users and posts your forum has. I typically charge $500-1000 for an import, depending on size and how much help you want handling the transition.

Wrong URL, sorry…

I actually have no alternative… I have a couple of other websites (about 20) where I need plesk, and I don’t have the budget for a seperate server, just for Discourse…

Hi,

What are your issues? I did it recently for a friend, and it’s essentially what said the link, following the standard instructions, exposing your ports and creating Docker Proxy Rules in Plesk.

Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss it.

[EDIT] It looks like Dave figured out his problem. He kept let’s encrypt template and it was the cause of the redirection.
