Partial restore from pg_dump?

I had to move a Discourse instance to a new host. However the available backup is a few days old. Is it possible to grab the last few days of contributions (if any) from the database itself and restore it to the new host?

I’m asking because the restore procedure takes the new host and adjusts mappings to the uploads, so I guess some things much be changed in the database that may affect proper post and topic restoration.

Note: I do not have access to a live site on the previous host, only to the database.

If you have access to the database, does anything prevent you from taking a fresh database dump? If you can do that, I think you should be able to combine that with your last backup, one way or another.
