Unsure if this sits in the right category, but, I found this read to be a fascinating one.
I know that Discourse was designed to enable the best engagement that humans can have with one another, digitally… so it’s good to take notes from the “big” dogs.
It’s impossible to have a rational conversation on Reddit because everything is sorted by votes and strictly hierarchical. It is not a conversational / dialog system at its core. There’s nothing we can learn from Reddit.
