Replied to tags are missing in the latest release

For anybody wondering, this issue is related to suppressing replies. If you’re looking to disable this, please read the replies

There is a setting which disables the reply view when the reply is directly after the other one

Is it when you reply to the post directly above? That normally hides the little avatar ‘in-reply-to’ in the top right corner. You can change that by using the suppress reply directly above setting: [suppress reply directly above] There are a couple more ‘suppress reply’ settings too: [suppress reply]

This is expected behavior. Because there is no message in between, if you reply to a post directly above your reply, there is no need to show the “reply” indicator you are looking for.

Then maybe it should be suggested to change this behavior by default? I never saw the setting so I never changed it, it’s enabled by default it looks like

Discourse shows all posts in the order they are published. It does not make you chase down multiple threaded paths. However, it still gives you lots of ways to follow the context of conversations.

To reply to a specific post in a topic, clicking the grey Reply button at the end of each post and your reply is linked to that post.

• If your reply is the next one published after the post you are replying to, this will appear next in chronological order
• If yours is NOT next, then two things happen after your post is published:
  • Your post will include a new link in its header with an image to show what this is ‘in reply to’ - clicking this link displays that previous post for context next to your reply
  • The original post includes a count of replies at the bottom - clicking this link displays the content of the replies

That’s because it would be incredibly noisy… most replies are in fact replies to the post directly above them. So that defaults to off to reduce repeated noise text metadata in the content.

I think there is no problem with your question. No need to ignore or revert it. It is a good question. I so many times answered this question on my forum so firstly maybe not clear for everyone. It can helps others too and you can select a solution since this is a support question.
