Reply option not showing on discobot's first message

I’m trying to get an install up and running, but have hit an issue. One of my new users has reported that you can’t reply to discobot, even after the second message. I, as an admin, have been able to do so, but am not sure why this ability would be restricted for any user.

  • The reply button does not show at all
  • The user can complete the tutorial by launching a new message thread
  • The user is at trust level 1, as the site is in bootstrap mode
  • ALL users can send direct messages.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Is the reply button not showing for personal messages between users as well?

The reply button shows on other messages; just initiated one and got a reply.

Do you mean other discobot messages are working fine and the problem is just for that particular PM?

As my user, I was able to get a reply from a tl1 user (the one having issues with discobot).

He was able to initiate a PM with discobot and complete the tutorial as normal, replying to messages and such. It looks to be this particular PM.

This also persists across other users–a testing account was created and was also unable to see the reply button on that same message.

ah-ha! That must have been it–system messages were disabled. Testing now…
