Tag filter dropdown - doesn't keep tag value if category is changed

I noticed that when selecting a category from the dropdown filter, then selecting a tag from the tag filter, the category value remains and shows topics with that tag from that particular category. This is as expected. See screen recording.

However if coming at it the other way: selecting tag first and then selecting category, the tag filter is cleared after selecting category. Which means the tag then needs selecting again. This is not as I expected, and would have expected the tag value to remain after selecting/changing category. See screen recording.

Is this a bug or designed this way on purpose?

I think this is by design, because this new category could not have the tag, so it makes the logic much more simple to reset the tags.

If you want to search by tags, most of the time you will just select one tag, so it solves most use cases.
