I have what I thought was an unused tag. No topics have that tag, as I recently changed some topics’ tags. When I try to “Delete Unused Tags” I get the message “There are no unused tags”.
This tag was in a tag group. When I removed the tag from the tag group, and try again, it worked: “1 tag will be deleted: …” It turns out that being in a tag group counts as being “used”. This isn’t immediately self evident.
It would be good if either:
- the tag could be deleted even though in a tag group; or
- the error message explained that the tag needs to be removed from the tag group before deletion is possible.
