TOS page (standalone not FAQ section)

When setting up my Discourse it created a FAQ post which is shown on the about page as it’s own tab. That post also contains my TOS section and the TOS tab links to it.

This has always bugged me since it is a bit confusing that it scrolls down instead of showing a different page. I recently noticed that meta does not have this problem and I wonder how I can achieve this, Do I need special formatting on the FAQ post to generate two pages or is that a plug-in or theme change?

The separate TOS page is created when you fill the company name site setting. Then new topics, like the FAQ one, appear in your staff category.

There is also a tos url setting, which you could use to link to a topic or a published page of a topic. But that takes the user to a different page, so the navigation at the top disappears.

Yes I used the url setting for the internal /faq#tos link.

But I don’t think I got a tos page when filling out the company name, in fact the faq post is tagged with „don’t edit, this is guideline and tos“ - is that maybe an older version behavior… can I restore the new tos template?

I would try to find the topic by putting something into the company name field and removing the tos url from the setting. Then the default tos link should appear at the about page (don’t forget to refresh after changing the settings) and you can use the edit link to find the topic in the staff category.

You can update the text to the most recent default with the “replace text” button at admin → customize → site texts.
