Exemple :

:uk: js.emoji_picker.people :arrow_right: People
:es: js.emoji_picker.people :arrow_right: Personas

Ces mots doivent-ils être traduits ?

  • Oui, ils doivent être traduits
  • Non, ils ne doivent pas être traduits

I hate to reopen this, but I see they still aren’t translated and there wasn’t much consensus.

In this case, honestly, I don’t see why the categories shouldn’t be translated. If they were emoji codes like :dog:, I could understand some debate, but as for the categories… They don’t affect anything except the emoji picker. It’s not the description of each emoji as @SidV mentions.

This is how it appears:

In my opinion, it looks completely out of place. Honestly, I would translate it.

If only three people have discussed the topic since July 2017, it doesn’t make much sense to talk about a consensus.

I understand that it is indeed the description of the emoji.
Imagine if instead of typing :dog:, I had to type :dog: to make :dog: appear.

Yes, well, you’re right that there can’t be consensus; I wasn’t saying it in a bad way :slightly_smiling_face:

As far as I know, emojis cannot be translated as of today. What I’m suggesting would be beneficial to translate are the category descriptions:

  • People :arrow_right: People
  • Nature :arrow_right: Nature
  • Food :arrow_right: Food
  • Celebration :arrow_right: Celebrations
  • Activity :arrow_right: Activities
  • Travel :arrow_right: Travel
  • Objects :arrow_right: Objects
  • Custom emojis :arrow_right: Custom emojis

Ah, okay, now I understand. I have corrected them!

I’m leaving a screenshot so I remember where they are in the future, as I didn’t remember:

Let me know if you want any changes :+1:
