I’ve discovered two aspects of this bug:

If I use the import_mbox.sh script and have a new folder in the ‘data’ folder that causes a new category to be created automatically I find I cannot edit the ‘about’ pinned post that is created by the system user until I change the ownership to myself. I am an admin user.

If I create a category myself using the web interface I also cannot edit the ‘about’ pinned post (which it says is my post) until I change it to be owned by someone else, eg the system user. At this point I can edit it.
In both cases, once the change of user is made to someone other that who it was to start with, the pen icon then appears and I can edit the text.
