I want to restrict redemptions to one new member per link. But the value is rejected, is there a reason for this?
Are you seeking to restrict the limit for all of your users, or are you just wanting to create invites that can only be redeemed by one person? If the latter, you can do this when creating your invitation. Select the “Edit link options” link, then change max users to “1”. You can also specify an email address if you want to make sure it’s only accepted by a specific person.
If the former, what is your use case for only wanting to let users invite one person at a time?
This is for a member’s network where you can only join by invitation. The goal is that existing members have limited invitations available, and each invitation is unique.
I’d actually want to remove most of the text from the current modal, so it wouldn’t even show the default text Link is valid for x users and expires in x days… It should just be valid once.
And you are wanting your members to create these invites?
Yes, members are encouraged to invite new members. It would also be rewarded with the badges and cheers. It’s just that invites should be unique and I wondered why I can limit to 1 on the modal, but not generally restrict to 1 in the admin setttings?
Yup. I agree this is a legit request and have passed it along internally.
Would it make sense to show an adapted detailed modal with inputs for email-address and private message in this case?
Well, yes, it would be nice to just show the follow-up modal right away:
Even more minimal then, just the email and the message.
I’m not at that design stage though I’m still exploring options and wondered why I can’t set the limit.
Actually, another setting that seems not aligned with the modal:
I set expiry to 30 days, but as a user I can still adjust it as I like:
Thank you for reporting this. You are right, it makes sense to allow 1
as a value. The limitation was dropped in this PR:
